Today, we’re officially announcing “Love Friends the Comic”

But haven’t we made comics already?
Yes, we have! We’ve released several one-page short comics since July 2022. But you might notice that there’s no web comic release from Love Friends since April 2024.
Previous web comic releases have pretty much been what was randomly thought of at the time, mostly with little consideration on how the bigger story fits together. With Love Friends the Comic, we aim to take the story of Love Friends, piece it all together in a chronological order with chapters that might’ve been previously released and newly written chapters to make the story more complete, some from the ideas that were conceived in the past but never turned into a chapter until now.
We want to make Love Friends into a real comic book that you can hold in your hand, with the story of our unique characters in a 4-page part, 4-part chapters. We want “Love Friends the Comic” to be *the* story of Love Friends. We want to have something people can point to as the definitive story of Love Friends, rather than having to put the pieces together from several random posts.
What to expect?
We will be releasing a new part (1/4 of a chapter) every other week on Fridays as mentioned above throughout 2026, with the end goal of physical release in late 2026. Hopefully, in time for Comic Avenue 11!
As of right now, the concept and general plot lines are complete for Volume 1 of the book. There are no plans for Volume 2 as of this moment.
We will also release “Love Friends the Comic” in Thai as well, but we don’t know exactly when or how we want to do it yet – could be physical release only, or could also be released online but only after English release, etc. Committing to a schedule is already a new challenge for us, and adding translations on top of that would be even more of a challenge. We want to, and we will definitely release the comic in Thai, but don’t expect it to be available as soon as the English releases.
The Love Friends website will also have a new “Comics” menu in the header for easy access to all of our web releases in the future. We’re still working on the reader, but it will be ready when Part 1 releases on January 9, 2026.
We hope you will like Love Friends the Comic! Stay tuned for more updates on our website and all of our social platforms. We still got 2 pop-up events, Holiday collection (Christmas postcards and 2026 Calendar poster), Christmas and New Year updates, as well as our yearly recap! But we hope to see you in 2026 for the first part of Love Friends the Comic, and hope you stay with us as future parts are being released throughout the year, and for the physical release in late 2026 (hopefully!)
