Introducing a new look for Love Friends Website!
Starting today, we’re updating the look of Love Friends website! As the design trend evolves from flat design to something with a little more depth, translucency, and lighting, we think this is a great opportunity to improve our design language a bit.
For us, we started off with flat, not because we’re here to oversimplify everything that hits your eyes, but because it was practical. Translating something we make in a design program to a website is really hard, especially when we have little knowledge about coding. And how it was didn’t look bad and totally fit in with our art style, that’s why we’ve haven’t been focusing on it much until now.
But to prepare ourselves for the future, we wanted to refresh our look just a tiny bit. Something that isn’t totally over-the-top, but still looks a little more sophisticated. Not everything will have more details in order to not distract you from the content itself. But you will see some more details in the buttons, the dialog boxes containing something important, etc.
Here’s an example of the dialog boxes, which will be used to highlight something of importance on the page. Such as additional information, important notes, and more. It’s made of a translucent glass-like material with subtle sheen all around the border.
Even below this post, you can see the social media buttons reflecting the new design languages. This translucent glass-like boxes will also be incorporated into our media as well, mostly on infographic materials. Maybe on artworks too, if it works well together. We first did on this year’s Pride artwork, and it turned out nicely. The characters popping out from those panels fits well on the website page too!
We hope you like this new look of Love Friends Website and to an extent, Love Friends as a whole. This is still somewhat experimental, hence the beta label.
